Accessibility Statement

We want every person to be able to get family law help from us, comfortably and with dignity. Here is how we approach accessibility and how to ask for what you need.

Our commitment

Wren & Ashby Family Law wants everyone to be able to find information, contact us and take part fully in their legal matter. Going through a separation is hard enough, and getting help should never depend on how you see, hear, move or process information.

We are committed to meeting our obligations under Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and to providing services with dignity, independence and equal opportunity.

Website accessibility

We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That includes:

  • Readable text with good colour contrast and resizable fonts

  • Pages that can be navigated with a keyboard alone

  • Descriptive headings and form labels that work with screen readers

  • Text alternatives for meaningful images

  • Plain language wherever possible

Accessibility is ongoing work. We review the site as we add new content, and we test with automated tools and manual checks. Some content, such as third-party tools or older documents, may not yet fully meet these standards. If you find something that doesn’t work for you, please tell us.

Accommodations for meetings

We are happy to adjust how we work with you. Just let us know what helps, and you don’t need to explain why. Accommodations can include:

  • Meeting format. In person, by phone or by video, whichever works best for you.

  • Timing. Longer appointments, more breaks or meetings at a time of day that suits you.

  • Support people. You’re welcome to bring a support person. We’ll discuss confidentiality with you beforehand.

  • Service animals. Service animals are welcome in our office.

  • Communication support. We can help arrange sign language interpretation or other communication support for meetings.

  • Written summaries. A plain-language written summary of what we discussed and what happens next.

Please contact us before your appointment about physical access to our office so we can make sure your visit goes smoothly.

Alternate formats

Our articles, guides and documents are available in alternate formats on request, such as large print, plain text or an accessible digital file that works with screen-reading software.

To request an alternate format, email hello@wrenashby.ca or call (905) 555-0142 and tell us which document you need and the format that works for you. We’ll provide it as soon as possible, taking your needs into account.

Temporary disruptions

If a service or feature that people with disabilities rely on, such as an elevator or our online booking tool, is temporarily unavailable, we’ll post a notice on our website and at our office explaining the disruption, how long it is expected to last and what alternatives are available.

Feedback

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website and services. You can reach us by:

  • Email: hello@wrenashby.ca

  • Phone: (905) 555-0142

  • Mail or in person: Wren & Ashby Family Law, Suite 210, 1 Example Street, Newmarket, ON L3Y 0A1

We’ll acknowledge your feedback within five business days and let you know what we plan to do about it. Feedback can be anonymous if you prefer.
